We meet Dr. Habib

We met the first member of Julie's team just a bit ago. His name is Dr. Habib and he grew up in Leavenworth KS. He has brought us the unwelcome news that they want to do another colonoscopy tomorrow. So for the second time in a week, Julie has to drink the gallon of "go lightly" solution to prepare. Julie's exact words were "you need to call the drug company and have them re-name that solution, because they are full of crap!" She is not at all excited about the prospect but Dr. Habib tells us that they want to check for CMV which is a virus that can only be detected by taking a sample directly from the colon. They also want the experts to get a first hand look at her Crohn's so she will grudgingly drink the junk and get ready again.

    Food for Thought:

Okay, do we want a virus, that is curable, and you'll be all better quick, or not? I need to know how to focus. Big hugs to everyone.

  8. Julie, I'm soooo sorry that you had to prep with that yucky stuff again!!! You'd think with all the modern medical advances they could work on this one for sure! You are in our thoughts and prayers. When Larry had his colonoscopy we put a great tattoo on his butt. Dr. J love it! Send Robin right out for that :) Love you-Judy B.

  9. Julie, I was reading my devotional tonight which consists of a story about how the Bible reading relates to our lives and then, well, a Bible reading (duh!) - and when I got to one part I thought of you.

    Out of the blue.

I kind of paused, read it again, wondered why I thought of you at that particular moment when I was focused on the devotional, and then went back to reading. I finished the devotional and put it down, and then for some reason I picked it up again, re-read it, and that verse - half verse, really - jumped out at me again.

I know it's weird, but I have this very strong feeling that I'm supposed to share this little bit of scripture with you (and it's freaking me out a little bit because things like this don't happen to me!) OK, for what it's worth:

Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act. --Psalm 37:7

There you have it. I'm just the messenger and not a very confident one at that, but I'll be praying that He acts quickly to give you answers and healing.
